Abstract - Summary
(short description):

Chlorine- and sulfur-free Na-Ca scapolite has been found in garnet granulites of Northern Karelia. Its composition (Ca/(Ca+Na)~0.7-0.75, Al/Si~0.7-0.75) is very close to NaCa3(Al5Si7O24)CO3 component (sodium-meionite). As previous researchers have demonstrated, this component is required for the correct description of scapolite solid solutions.
