Session 3. Synthesis of crystalline materials and experimental mineralogy
Experimental study of the morphology of quartz crystals was performed in connection with conditions of their growth. The formation of crystals was experimentally investigated in the temperature range from 210 – 900 oC and pressure from 40 – 500 MPa under isothermal and thermo gradient conditions. Pure water and aqueous solutions of NaCl, NaOH, NH4F, HF and others with concentration of 0.001-5 wt. % as well as oil and its components were used as solutions. Researches have confirmed aspiration to alignment of growth rates of the basic faces in process of increase thermobaric parameters of process. But together with this experiments have proved, that not less essential influence on change a ratio of growth rates of the various faces defining habit of crystals, render composition, density and supersaturation a solution, and also the sizes and the form of a substratum, duration of growth and position of a growing crystal in a field of gravitation.
