Abstract - Summary 
(short description):
The behavior of selenium in natural processes is defined by behavior of sulfur, whose geochemical analog it is. Thus the greatest lines of similarity between them are shown at the increased temperatures and in reduction conditions of endogenous mineralogenesis, and the greatest differences in low-temperature and oxidizing conditions of hypogenous processes.
During the conducted researches we (1) systematized the thermodynamic parameters necessary for modeling of behavior of selenium which are available in literature; (2) areas of stability of mineral phases for the systems containing Se, S, Co, Ni, Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb are calculated; (3) analogs of rare minerals selenites are synthesized and investigated that allowed to expand and specify base of modeling; (4) physical and chemical conditions of formation of some selenites which formation is possible in nature as minerals not known today are found.
