Abstract - Summary 
(short description):
Zircon cores from the Archean gray gneisses are relict mineral of magmatic protolytes. The study of composition and age (trapping time) of magmatic inclusions by SHRIMP dating of the host zircon makes it possible to obtain data on the composition and temporal evolution of the initial protolyte magmas. These results have been first obtained in studies of the inclusions in zircon from Archean metavulcanites of Kola super deep borehole. It is found that zircons of early generation have been formed in the deep magma source during partial crystallization of plagiorhyodacitic-plagiorhyolite magmas within 2887-2807 Ma. Fast crystallization of plagiorhyolite magmas followed by the formation of residual rhyolite melts (enriched in K2O) captured at the final crystallization stage of protolyte zircons has taken place as magmas flow out to the surface.
