Abstract - Summary (short description): | |
Metamorphosed Kimozero kimberlites, which petrologically are metakimberlites of the prenhnite-pumpellyite facies, consist of antigorite, actinolite, tremolite, calcite, dolomite, chlorites, magnetite, talc, sphene, rutile, hematite, ferropseudobrookite, Fe-Ni sulfides, apatite, zircon, baddeleyite, bixbyite, thorite. REE minerals of metakimberlites, such as allanite, bastnäaesite, parisite, monazite, inherited the Ce, Ce-La and Ce-La-Nd characteristics of magmatic calcite, perovskite and apatite. Allanite-(Ce) is widespread. Bastnäsite-(Ce) and –(La), parasite-(Ce) and
-(La) or monazite-(Ce) with prevalence of hydroxyl groups and less dominant fluor groups have replaced allanite at the later stages of metamorphism.
Key words: metakimberlites of the prehnite-pumpellyite facies, hydroxylbastnäsite, hydroxylparasite, bastnäsite, parasite.
