(short description):
Mineral concrements of a biogeneous origin, calcifications various localization, bilious and salivary stones are alien pathogenic formations that cause a number of diseases demanding operative intervention. The biogeneous concrements have been studied with the developed XCT technique and on mineralogical approach. XCT for biogeneous concrements is alike histology in medical and biological studies, however gives priority in speed of research without special sample preparation. Biogeneous concrements morphology differ from organogenious mineral matter of pearls and corals, also difference in phase composition and distribution for calcifications, salivary stones and gallstones has been shown; such research may better promote disease courses explanation, revealing mechanisms of the calcification process development, being aimed at the health protection. Future investigations are aimed at disease course explanation, revealing mechanisms of human biolithostones origin and development processes.
