Traditionally quality of quartz raw material is estimated according to existent government standards (GOST) and technical specifications for different types of quartz material where the following characteristics are limited: chemical and mineral impurity content, coefficient of transparency, high-temperature water content and moisture content. The most rigid requirements are lodged for fused types of quartz. But often these data are not enough to predict positive results of experimental melting that are expensive us usual. In connection with this investigation of a complex of typomorphic properties of quartz is an urgent preliminary stage in determination of washability of quartz raw material, correcting of technological schemes and screening of hard processed raw material. The main attention should be put to the following features: specifications of mineral impurity distribution within quartz, dimension and distribution of fluid inclusions and content of structural impurities. |
