A new compound was obtained by hydrothermal synthesis in the system MnCl2 ľ V2O5 ľ K2CO3 ľ H2O (Ď = 280Đ, đ = 100 bar).
The unit cell parameters were determined on an Xcalibur-S diffractometer equipped with a CCD detector and MoK radiation (graphite monochromator): a = 5.201(1), ˝ = 22.406(3) Å, sp.gr. P63/m, Z = 2, dcalc. = 3.371 g/cm3, R1 (for all reflections with I > 4σ(I), 530) = 0.0222, ωR2 (for all reflections, 535) = 0.0563, parameters = 33.
The work examines ˝omparative ˝rystal ˝hemistry of the first vanadate-carbonate K2Mn3[VO4]2(CO3) and other synthetic compounds and minerals as members of a polysomatic series based on gibbsite-like octahedral layers linked with tetrahedra.
