Abstract - Summary 
(short description):
The influence of a mafic sill on the sapropelite body was studied by means of Raman spectroscopy. Interpretation of the first and second Raman spectra showed that the crystallinity of carbonaceous material depends on both metamorphic conditions and the mineral matrix. In plane crystallite sizes increase and some defects disappear due to contact metamorphism, but three-dimensional ordering is not attained.
